Lunch in Spain

Lunch in Spain you might think you need to fly or spend hours on the road.
This is France, its not far from lots of other countries.
You just go up the road and through the tunnel.

We knew that our trip would take us through a tunnel and thought "oh yes" it will just be a quick in and out.
Just over 3 kms later we are in Spain. Takes about 4 minutes and is through the Pyrenees Mountains

Spanish just another just language to add to our must learn to read.
Spanish words that we knew. None

Peaches the size of a saucer.Taste was amazing .
They went well with our Spanish Chorizo and cheese rolls
The area we were in

Tap Tap shoes

The costume and tap shoes were banned from returning home.
I was sad about this as I'm sure the person whom it was for would have just loved tapping her way through out the house

Bring your own bottles and fill it up.
Love that they put the alcohol % on them.

If you like Whisky
6 litre bottle anyone.I couldn't lift it . Seems not a lot of tax on alcohol in Spain

Tea in the Teapot.

It has been a great trip and have found many places( low and high) that we have enjoyed.Have made on the spot decicions to do silly things and have laughed at doing them.
On of the special places we visited was this amazing wooden teapot. We had found the link on line (Tea in the Teapot. Facebook check it out)when they first stared out and have had been in contact with them about the GIANT TEA COSY the were endevouring to make to cover it. Squares were need so what else would one do but to contribute.Castelnau Magnoac is where it is situated and the story of its begins are facinating.
Looks can be decieving. It has two stories and outside seating areas.
Oh and a very nice shop full of allsorts to spend your money on

All these yummy cakes are made in their kitchen.

An added bonus for them to raise money.
The tea cosy is knitted from Bendigo Woolen Milll Wool and cause a great deal of delight

They had just taken sconces out of the oven.
Let me tell you they were very nice thankyou .
The clotted cream and jam on top just made them yummier

Millau Bridge

A feet of engineering stretching across the valley of the river Tarn.
The toll to cross is 7 Euro($10 AUD) one way .
To do both ways is a little tricky as we found out.

Its a long way to the top of the highest pier 300 plus meters above the floor of the valley.
It is the highest bridge of its type in the world. Higher than the Eiffel tower
As you stand at the viewing area beside and at the top of the bridge you get the full expanse of the way it stretches across the valley. It has a slight incline towards the far end.
Large signs on the road way in french" NO WALKING ON THE BRIDGE"

Our treat for the night

And then add jet streams and another gob smacking view

Gouffre de Padirac(Padric Chasm)

As you research your trip you come across some sights that you put on the "Yes that looks good well go there"For people who don't do heights or stairs or dark places this had them all and oh yes a boat.Three lifts and several flights of stairs down you get to the underground river.Travelling nearly 2 km you get to the deepest part of the chasm. It is due to collapse in another 300 years so we were alright. One of our Willobee group then thought it was a good time to suggest they hoped there was earthquake detectors .If it wasn't scary enough. Nearly 2 hours later we emerged at the top. If you are ever in this area of France it is a must do.
The start of the downward journey

The awesome view from the bottom of the chasm

This stunning statue was the bottom.
Serene and beautiful

And we are still heading down
Just a little information

Talloires. French Alps

From one day to the next when you book your accommodation you never really know what you get until you arrive.Yes you can surf the internet for as much information but it never is as good as the real thing

The evening before

The louder the coach yelled the more the dog barked at the rowers

Dozens of these thrill seekers spent a long time just swirling on the thermals

Local transport. It still could be a little wide in some places

Was a little cool when we arrived
And when we woke up
Snow. Amazing
